Phili Magic Garden

I have always been fascinated by mosaics. On a recent family visit to Philadelphia's South Street neighborhood, we discovered the Philadelphia Magic Gardens created by mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. What a wonderful discovery! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I created a collage of some of the pictures I took. "The Magic Gardens includes a  mosaic indoor gallery and a massive outdoor labyrinthine mosaic sculpture. The installation, primarily consisting of found objects and contributions from the community, covers half a city block with myriads of tile, texture, and color. A walk through the labyrinth will reveal sculptures from Latin America and Asia, bicycle wheels from local South Street shop Via Bicycles, Zagar's hand-made tiles, and mirrors of every shape and size".

Ich war schon immer von Mosaiken fasziniert. Bei einem kürzlichen Familienausflug in der Philadelphia South Street Nachbarschaft entdeckten wir die Philadelphia Magic Gardens erstellt von Mosaik-Künstler Isaiah Zagar. Was für eine wunderbare Entdeckung! Wir genossen unseren Besuch sehr. Ich habe eine Collage aus einigen Bildern, die ich geknipst habe, erstellt. "The Magic Gardens beinhaltet eine Mosaik Indoor-Galerie und eine massive outdoor labyrinthische Mosaik-Skulptur. Die Anlage, die hauptsächlich aus Fundstücken und Beiträgen von der Nachbarschaft besteht, deckt einen halben Häuserblock ab mit Myriaden von Fliesen, Texturen und Farben. Auf einem Spaziergang durch das Labyrinth findet der Besucher Skulpturen aus Lateinamerika und Asien, Fahrrad-Räder aus dem lokalen South Street Shop Via Fahrräder, Zagar’s handgemachte Fliesen und Spiegel jeder Form und Größe".

Many more of  Zagar's mosaics can be found throughout the South Street neighborhood on walls and buildings. Zagar and his students have created more than 50 mosaic murals in an attempt to beautify this artsy Philadelphia community. The visit was incredibly inspiring. I  think I will join a workshop with Zagar and help create another neighborhood mural. That will be fun and I can learn a lot too!

Noch viele andere Mosaikkunstwerke von Zagar können in der South Street Nachbarschaft auf Mauern und Gebäuden gefunden werden. Zagar und seine Schüler haben mehr als 50 Mosaik-Wandbilder geschaffen in einem Versuch, diese  Philadelphia Nachbarschaft künstlerisch zu  verschönern. Der Besuch war unglaublich inspirierend. Ich glaube, ich werde mich bei einem Workshop mit Zagar anmelden und zur Schaffung eines weiteren Nachbarschafts-Wandbildes beitragen. Das wird bestimmt Spass machen und lernen kann ich auch viel!
