Mosaic Garden Balls

I am dreaming of future mosaic projects while my fingers are healing. Here are some pictures I found on Flickr that inspire me. The pictures are all from the group called Bowling Ball Art.

The above is a great tutorial on how to make the concrete balls to mosaic. You can also use old bowling balls.

  7. glue, mosaic pieces, grout, seal. I nice piece of rebar spray painted whatever your color of choice is - put a finger hole of bowling ball over the rebar. Simple!

  8. What kind of glue do you use, that will stand up to changing weather outside? These are beautiful!! (NOt sure how/why I'm seeing them so long after you all posted, but I guess that's the nature of facebook/interwebs). :-)

    1. E6000 adhesive is awesome for all kinds of outdoor crafts. Hobby Lobby, Michael's, those kinds of craft stores all sell it. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  12. if you DON"T want the weight... you can use large Styrofoam balls

cover them in Casting material (Michael's/ Joanne's?) then finish with a two part apoxy/ then apply your tesserae with a thinset bonding mortar.

also good idea: is to put ball in a large plastic blow with a towel under ball to keep from rolling
